Many many greetings in the Saving Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

The month of January continued with the winter cold of December.  The month of February and March are Examination preparation months for all students.  This year we had two from Charis Home to appear for 10th class (School Final) examination, which is a state wide board examination.

We had a mathematics teacher to come home every day and help in physical science subjects.

In the mean time Sis Jacqui Gorman (Sydney) arrived and she made a systematic study plan and she herself initiated a scheduled study programme for all the school going children which was very good.  She taught basic mathematics concepts and conversational English.  We could see the big improvement at the reading sessions.

Sheena is working at a medical diagnostic centre as cardiac care technician and Salome is serving at the Christadelphian old age home (Shunem) as a massage therapist.  The 10th class examinations will end by April 6th and the lower classes will finish by 22nd of April.  Solomon Sunder passed the degree in Hotel Management.

The drought situation in Moinabad is very bad and the state hydrogeological department has in its rating of water table in Moinabad as Minus 5.  The Local body is trying to find out new bore-well points to drill deep bore-wells to supply water for the whole village.  We have decided to make a trip down to Kerala during the month of May (midsummer), soon after the Examinations to stay until the end of May to return early June

just before the monsoon.

We had a special study visit by a group of Social workers from Christy’s Institute in Mumbai. There were legal experts, doctors and voluntary social workers who were fascinated to see the family unit system we have in Moinabad homes.  Some of them wanted to come back to stay for a while to study more about the integration of children into and bringing them up as part of a normal family.  The 13 member group was in tears when they said ‘good bye’ to the homes.  Christy is posted to a tsunami affected fishermen’s colony in south India for his field work after his 2nd semester exams.  He reports that he thoroughly enjoys the stay among the fishermen of Kanyakumari in Tamilnadu.

May The Heavenly Father’s care & protection keep all of us safe until the return of Christ.

Thanking you for the continued support, YBIC,Mathews.
